The Gamification Gurus list is powered by Leaderboarded with data from Klout, Lanyrd and Twitter.
What’s new this month?
Not much, I’ve really been focused on improving the Leaderboarded app that powers this leaderboard.
Who’s doing well?
Well done to Tyler Altrup who joins the list for the first time, Michael Wu who reaches the giddy heights of number two. Sebastian Deterding returns to the top 4. It’s also nice to see the CEO’s of some of the main gamification platform providers make the cut – Badgeville’s Kris Duggan, Keith Smith from BigDoor and Rajat Paharia from Bunchball.
Can I see my score if I’m not in the Top 40?
Yes, you can now log in with your twitter account and you’ll be able to see where you stand on this month’s leaderboard at http://www.leaderboarded.com
Why is this leaderboard more sophisticated than just tracking twitter?
Well, check out this leaderboard I’ve created just on the twitter hashtag – ‘Gamification’ – here you can see the people making the most noise about gamification but not necessarily the most influential.
The trick is to have multiple variables from different data sources that are then weighted in an appropriate fashion.
Can I leave the leaderboard?
Of course, just ping me an email toby@tobyberesford.com and I’ll take you off the leaderboard, no questions asked.
Can I join the leaderboard?
Yes, sign up at http://bit.ly/iamagameguru
What’s happening next month?
It’s full steam ahead on the leaderboarded product as I add more data sources including Klout’s upstart (and more transparent) competitor Kred
See you next month.
