This year at the San Francisco Gamification Summit (April 16-18 2013) I’m going to be teaming up with Kevin, Gabe and the Gsummit team to create a little Gamification Gurus Live experience.
It’s going to be fun, we’ll all get together during the party and congregate at 7pm on Mainstage on April 17th.
We will be taking the Gamification Gurus 2013 photo – if you are a guru it’s essential you get on this photo as it’ll be the only one for the year. We’ll get the PR wizards to push it out to the major outlets and I can imagine it turning up everywhere throughout 2013. We’ll line up as gurus in leaderboard order for the photo, (this is your chance to try to dislodge Gabe from the top spot by Feb 11th, yeah good luck with that. ;)
If you’re one of the top gurus who attend the conference then you’ll be featured in the photo.

It’ll be fun. I’m also up for hearing lots from everyone on the Gamification Gurus list and how to improve it.
As part of this, Gsummit have given us a special gurus discount code – it’s LEADB13SF which gives you a further $100 off the early bird price. There will also be a discount if you’re in the top 40 on February’s guru list (even if you’ve already bought your ticket). More on that later.
By the way, to keep things clear it will be the positions on the leaderboard as at February 11th 2013 that we use for the photo. So counting starts in earnest tomorrow (get your leaderboard profile connected to your YouTube and Slideshare profile) as these will all count in next month’s leaderboard).
And, since I quite enjoy being on the leaderboard myself, I’ll be getting an independent third party to be the Leaderboard Steward and release the February edition (yeah that’ll be my dad, jokes). This will make sure I’m not cheating on my own leaderboard! Tips on improving your score:
a. Getting people to mention you and gamification in the same tweet
b. People retweeting your gamification tweets
c. Getting people to view your YouTube videos tagged gamification
d. Getting people to view your Slideshare presentations tagged gamification
e. Improving your overall Klout score for social media influence
Note that for (c) and (d) you need to make sure your leaderboarded profile has both your YouTube account and Slideshare username connected.
